It is intriguing to me that monarchs arrive in Mexico just in time for their Day of the Dead celebrations on November 2nd. They see the monarch's arrival as their ancestors returning. 

Monarchs for me are about courage and surrender both in the metamorphosis from caterpillar to chrysalis and then to the wondrous emergence as butterfly as well as their courageous journey to Mexico.

They remind us of the gifts we receive in letting go.

This heart is hand painted with encaustic paint, a mixture of beeswax, damar resin and pigment.  It comes with a hemp cord and is packaged in a compostable clear bag with an info card about encaustic paint and care instructions.
