This willow tree grows on the shores of Lake Huron where I live and has so far survived the rising lake levels that have significantly altered the shoreline in recent years. It has become a symbol of hope, persistence and determination for many in the community. This tree has has its heart set on on staying rooted.

This ornament is hand painted with encaustic paint, a mixture of beeswax, damar resin and pigment and hangs with a hemp cord.
