About

Trusting and acting on the spontaneous, intuitive impulse takes me on a creative journey with a myriad of magical destinations that include discovery, joy, delight, connection, transformation and remarkable synchronicity.
This is why I love to make art.
This is why I love to share all that I know about my process.

Artist’s Statement

I make art with the intent to enliven and inspire.

I create spontaneously with a selection of materials in combination with encaustic paint while relying on and trusting in play and intuition to develop my imagery. Titles for each piece serve as doorways to connect to the memory and imagination of the viewer. My art is like an image from a dream and tells stories connected to the everyday experience.

Encaustic paint is a mixture of beeswax, damar resin and pigment. I paint while the wax is in a molten state and fuse each layer to assure its connection to the layer below. I love this medium for its texture and the way it gives a translucent quality to layers of colour. It is an ancient medium. Encaustic paintings from Greco Roman Egypt still exist today.
