Underneath — Original Encaustic Painting

Living on the Lake Huron shore isn't easy. This bent willow at Goderich's Main Beach has survived rising lake levels, persistent wind and waves, and ice storms. It stands anyway — rooted, enduring, a symbol of staying strong in the midst of difficult times.

This painting blazes with colour — layers of melted beeswax and pigment that seem to glow from within, the sky and shoreline dissolving into something almost dreamlike. The tree, rendered through laser print photo transfer from the artist's own photograph, holds steady at the centre of it all.

This original painting is 10 × 10 inches with 1.5 inch sides treated with encaustic paint, signed on the back and ready to hang.
